Our client in Atherton is looking for a Driver | Assistant House Manager to transport principal to and from the office, appointments, family and social events as requested while taking care of the home and supporting staff. The Driver | Assistant House Manager runs errands as needed and is a conduit and support to the House Manager.

This position will be responsible for all vehicles including safety, maintaining exterior/interior, repairs, updates, insurance, registration, and recommendations.

The Driver | Assistant will report to the Family House Manager (FHM).

  • Function as a personal assistant when needed and/or complete tasks as directed by Family House Manager
  • Perform regular safety and maintenance walk-throughs of home to identify repairs and report needs to Family House Manager
  • Perform maintenance related tasks, and make simple repairs of equipment and furnishings that do not require licensed professionals
  • Inventory Management
  • Complete expense reports and timesheets
  • General errand running


  • Be available to drive Principal on a 24/7 basis
  • Confer with House Manager weekly to plan the following week’s driving and routes
  • Run household errands and purchase household supplies as directed
  • Provide airport transfers and support travel transfers as directed

Household Vehicles

  • Ensure the safety of all vehicles
  • Manage inspections of vehicles including electrical and mechanical, and state required.
  • Check tire pressure weekly
  • Manage repairs for auto fleet
  • Help manage vehicle charging and fueling
  • Manage vehicle wash and clean service weekly
  • Ensure insurance and registration are up to date
  • Auto recalls conducted in a timely manner
  • Body shop repair as needed
  • Work with auto company, other vendors, field service, and technical representatives
  • Order parts and arrange installation
  • Make database entries to document all work performed on equipment


  • Excellent time management skills and reliability. Must have a flexible attitude towards working hours and days as some days will be longer than others
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn new technologies and processes, and adapt to change
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
  • Experience working in a team-based environment and achieve common goals
  • Evidence of a “safety first” attitude
  • Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving history
  • Exercise confidentiality and discretion always. Position requires an NDA and extensive background checks and the ability to pass an advanced driving test
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience as a Professional Driver | Chauffeur
