House Manager

Our client in Atherton has an immediate need for a multi-talented House Manager to join their estate team. Candidates for this position must be willing to wear many hats, and have a pitch-in attitude-no job too small! Candidates must be local to the Bay Area, female candidates preferred.

  •  Full-Time
  •  Live-out
  •  Monday-Friday | 8:30am-6:00pm
  •  Occasional late nights and weekends required
  •  Occasional travel to other estates
  •  Start date: ASAP

Primary Responsibilities:

  •     Set and maintain household standards: cleaning, laundry, daily operations
  •     Manage household staff to ensure standards are maintained: two nannies, housekeeper
  •     Plan and manage small dinners and events, work with event planners for larger events
  •     Create and manage household systems
  •     Create and manage inventory spreadsheets
  •     Manage staff schedules
  •     Household shopping
  •     Occasional driving (mileage paid by family)
  •     Household errands as needed
  •     Online research/orders/returns
  •     Purchase and track personal gifts
  •     Other duties as assigned by Principals

Assist With:

  •     Manage vendors, quality control-build strong relationships with all vendors
  •     Troubleshoot maintenance issues, interior, and exterior of home
  •     Manage house fund, budgeting, expense report, etc.
  •     Contribute to/update household manual
  •     Establish and manage estate safety protocols
  •     Manage vendor schedules
  •     Very light food preparation (the family employs a cook)
  •     Set dining table
  •     Floral arranging

Occasionally Assist With:

  •     Manage children’s schedule when needed
  •     Child coordination and supervision
  •     Serving meals

Requirements:

  •     3+ years’ experience working in busy luxury homes
  •     Must be tech-savvy and have smart home experience
  •     Must be able to multi-task and change gears quickly!
  •     Clean driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  •     Able to accommodate last-minute schedule changes
  •     Able to travel to other homes, with notice
  •     Should have a positive, can-do, attitude
  •     Longevity with past employers, excellent references
  •     Must be willing to sign an NDA and submit to an in-depth background check

Compensation:

  •     Excellent | DOE
  •     Medical/Dental paid by employer
  •     18 Days PTO (sick & vacation days)
  •     10 Paid holidays
  •     401K with employer matching after 3 months
