Family of four (two adults and two teenage children) located in Piedmont, California is looking for a full-time Housekeeper | Household Manager for their five-bedroom residence. The Housekeeper | Household Manager who is hired will be responsible for all housekeeping, maintenance, and vendor management. This role ensures the household is operating smoothly, home is impeccable, and the family’s comfort is facilitated with ease. Sense of humor, strong communication skills, and independence will be prized.
The ideal candidate will have familiarity with maintaining fine surfaces and delicate furnishings. The home has a small dog and a cat, animal lovers only, please!

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Keeping household clean and in excellent condition
- Organization projects, drawers, cabinets, rooms, etc.
- Overseeing purchase of necessary goods and monitoring of outside vendor and operational expenses related to housekeeping
- Maintaining and managing household inventories and operational scheduling of home maintenance.
- Running household errands including, but not limited to, grocery shopping, supplies, wardrobe components and other requests as needed
- Wardrobe maintenance (swapping out seasonal attire etc.)
- Maintain inventory of owners’ personal toiletries and valuables (grooming products, contact lenses, jewelry)
- Assisting with parties and gatherings – including errands, shopping, polishing silver, serving, clean up
- Though not currently a standard requirement, the above work may occasionally include weekends and holidays
In addition to managerial responsibilities, candidate should possess hands-on skills including;
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Vacuuming and cleaning carpets, rugs, draperies and upholstery
- Scheduling routine shampoo appointments for carpets, rugs, draperies, and upholstery
- Dusting, cleaning, and polishing furniture, fixtures, and fittings
- Emptying and cleaning trash containers & disposing of trash in a sanitary manner
- Cleaning basins, mirrors, tubs and showers
- Tidying rooms, making-up beds and changing linens, as required
- Washing windows
- Sorting, washing, folding and organizing laundry
- Ironing and pressing laundry including clothing and linen
- Managing dry-cleaning pick-up and deliveries
- Operating cleaning equipment
- Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in safe and sanitary working conditions
- Purchasing groceries and household supplies to maintain inventory
- Maintaining records of related expenditure and submitting receipts
- Caring for household pets – scheduling and taking to appointments, purchasing food and making sure inventory is stocked
- Washing dishes, cleaning kitchen and appliances
- Maintaining organized garages
- Maintaining organized outdoor areas including covering BBQs when away from the house as well as putting on furniture covers as necessary (out of town, weather, etc.)
- Basic floral arrangement skills-not required!
- Other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a private home
- Spanish speakers preferred
- Ability to make a long-term employment commitment

- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to utilize electronic communication via apps, emails, and computers

- Working in cramped spaces; stepstools and/or ladders

COMPENSATION
- $35-$40 | Hour
- Kaiser Healthcare Available: Dental and visionnot included
- 10 Paid Vacation Days/year: Vacation time is accrued pro rata each pay period and may be used as it is accrued after completing the 90-day introductory period.
- Paid Holidays: 6 days/year. Holidays will be agreed upon with Employer
- Birthday Off – Employee is eligible to take birthday off with pay if it falls on a regular work day
- Paid Sick Days: Employee begins accruing paid sick days on the first day of employment. Paid sick leave accrues at a rate of one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every 30 regular and/or overtime hours worked, but employee cannot accrue beyond a total of 48 hours (6 days) of paid sick leave at any given time. Employee can request use of paid sick leave after completing an initial minimum waiting period of 90 calendar days from the date of hire. Following those 90 days, employee can request (and use) sick leave as it accrues; however, employee may only use a maximum of 24 hours (3 days) of accrued sick time within the 12-month period following anniversary date of hire.
