Nanny

Lovely San Francisco family is seeking a mature, warm, caring, professional Nanny for their 1-month-old infant. The ideal candidate will be highly experienced, confident, and knowledgeable.  The family also has a young toddler, who is cared for by his own nanny. Must be willing and able to travel with the family and additional members of the family’s staff when needed.  Responsibilities include assisting in the care and nurturing the infant.

The family is seeking candidates who are very reliable, accountable, physically fit and healthy. Non-smokers only! Candidates should have the ability to multi-task, be able to accommodate the changing schedules of the family and always remain positive and calm.

Home Environment: Informal but professional, organized, efficient, happy! As with all positions; children are the number one priority with safety and security being paramount.  The family surrounds themselves with wonderful people, they expect that all of their staff will put on a polite face as they represent the family to the public.  This includes the family, extended family, friends, guests, staff, and vendors.  The family favors discretion at all times as well as highly valuing confidentiality.  It is important to keep their privacy honored at all times.

  • Full-time: 6:30 am –6:30 pm
  • Schedule: Rotational 4-3, 3-4 schedule
  • Start Date: immediately
  • Only candidates who live in San Francisco will be considered for this position

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of 1 infant
  • Feeding, bathing, changing diapers, playing, and offering comfort when needed
  • Cleaning up after infant’s meals and activities
  • Prioritizing the infant’s safety, development, and comfort at all times
  • Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the child
  • Basic Safety and Security training (first aid training, child and infant CPR, etc.)
  • Supervise the child’s activities at all times: home play and organized play
  • Support family during local visits to friends’ homes, restaurants, events and other family activities
  • Plan, supervise, and maintain rest, bed and nap times, assist with sleep training
  • Assist with bedtime routine including bathing, dressing, reading, and putting the child down when parents are not available
  • Ensure proper room temperature and bedding for crib
  • Monitor resting hours by watching and listening for the baby monitor and responding to the child as appropriate
  • Help soothe child if woken during rest by methods determined by the parents
  • Ensure feeding supplies are clean: bottles, bibs, utensils; feeding the child when parents are not available
  • Dress child appropriately for activities
  • Communicate child’s behaviors to parents and agree on consistent parenting philosophies
  • Administer medicine to the children, as necessary and directed
  • Organize child’s bedroom and play areas ensuring proper sanitation
  • Perform light housework related to childcare: clean up after meals, tidy play areas, wash bottles and feeding equipment, laundry
  • Maintain an organized diaper bag stocked with items the child frequently uses or needs
  • Maintain nightly log sheets that will track feeding times, ounces, diaper changes, etc.
  • Informing and teaching the parents where applicable
  • Help foster childhood learning (i.e. learning to read, walk, talk, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned by the family

Applicant Requirements:

  • Verifiable, long-term experience working with young infants
  • Knowledge of general first aid and CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Must have reliable personal vehicle, though a family car will be provided for driving the child if needed
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to sign an NDA and submit to an in-depth background check
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 35 pounds without assistance

Compensation:

  • Employer-provided health plan paid:100% for employee-only coverage.
